Kos Shel Eliyahu. A Cup of Redemption
In addition to the four cups of wine that each participant drinks during the Pesach Seder, a fifth cup is placed on the Seder table. This cup, which is not drunk, is known as Kos Shel Eliyahu, Eliyahu’s Cup.
Of course, there's a bit of drama around this cup. When opening the door for Elijah, the children gather round to watch the quivering liquid ripple, hoping to detect some sign of its sampling by the visiting prophet. But surely there's more meaning to this cup than a child's imagination?
Let's not play pretend with someone as serious and holy as the prophet Elijah. It is quite thoughtful of some people to offer Elijah a drink while visiting, but thank you, he doesn't need sips to keep him going. This cup has real purpose and meaning. Learning more about Elijah's historic role in Judaism,  we'll realize that this special cup is here even more for our own sake than for his, to inspire us and to give our seder focus and direction.
According to tradition, at this moment our homes are graced by the presence of Elijah the prophet. There are multiple reasons and meanings behind this age-old tradition.

Eliyahu's Cup for Passover

After the conclusion of the Seder’s Grace After Meals, there is a universally accepted custom to pour a cup of wine (the “Cup of Eliyahu”), open the front door of the home, and recite several verses wherein we beseech G‑d to pour His wrath upon our persecutors and oppressors.
According to tradition, at this moment our homes are graced by the presence of Eliyahu HaNavì (Elijah the prophet).

Elijah’s cup is an important part of Passover Seder. Every year, Elijah the Prophet is invited to the Seder meal. A place is set at the table for Elijah, and we pour a cup of wine in his honor. 
We thought it would be nice to create a beautiful, crafty wine goblet for Elijah, a craft that children can participate in wrapping the colorful string. While little fingers help you can tell  the story of Eliyahu!
The supplies you will need are:
• natural jute or cotton string in several colors(choose the tones you like the most)
• a paint brush
• an inexpensive wine glass or goblet 
• white craft glue or Mod Podge.
• scissors

Home decorated Eliyahu's Cup

Rich with symbolism, Passover overflows with meaning and significance. But while the whole seder hums with talk and activity, the "Cup of Elijah" stands alone by itself, without any apparent function. We pay individual tribute with a blessing over each of the other our cups, but not a word about this one. The wine poured into this cup remains untouched to the end, we pour it right back into the bottle after the seder is over.

You can use a cheap wine glasse,  some imitation of crystal cup for example, then you add glass mosaic beads and small crystal looking beads with using epoxy or any heavy duty, high tack glue. (if you're not going to make the craft directly with the kids)

You can make very beautiful jeweled cos shel eliyahu. 

And if you're going to do it with a kid, you can possibly use clear silicone/caulk
